The key to a good photoshoot is more than talent, it's chemistry. There has to be a mutual draw between subject and artist or you see it in the photos. Everything shows on camera.

Working with Pretty Rebel Photo was a dream! The experience opened up my eyes to the world of working with a female photographer who is TRULY SW friendly! I’ve worked with female photographers in similar capacities, shooting boudoir and glamour, but the ease I felt being around K and talking about work and what I wanted out of my photoshoot was second to none the best photoshoot experience I’ve ever had.
I’d gotten the low-down. I was getting this photoshoot last minute because I had proven that I was friends with the right people and I had coin. I curled my hair with a straightening iron, packed a bag full of lingerie and was in my cab like clockwork. I arrived to the airbnb 2 minutes after the hour. Meeting K for the first time in years was awkward but not for long. K has a very warm and familiar demeanor and we knew each other. At one point. But we didn’t know each other anymore. The pandemic… we both moved. Life happened. We picked up where we left off fairly quickly, though!

K gave me great direction. I felt kind of awkward at moments but I don’t think it came across in the photos because K has a great eye and really understands how to capture the angles, lines and curves of a woman’s body. (And market it.) She understands what the photo needs. She’s like another HelloMiss or goodface and people need to start talking about her! We need to look hot, yeah, but the butt needs to be big and the waist needs to be round and small and the boobs need to be the perfect handful but still have great cleavage and your hair has to be curled just so and if you can cover your face that will make editing easier later but, like, do it in a seductive way, you know? And it all needs to be taken with the right lens!
Modeling and getting the shots you want can be really hard if the photographer is inept. K made modeling feel fluid and moved with me to get each shot! We were working together and really flowing! I’ve modeled for years but I’m the subject matter when it comes to a photo. The photographer gives the collective vision a container. A place and platform for a piece of art to be created! It would’t happen without the photographer! I’m truly thankful for your talent and expertise, K! I look forward to the next time we get to shoot together! Visiting Austin for a week this winter sounds delightful!
We bounced around the apartment we shot at in San Francisco. A few shots in the kitchen. A few shots in the living room. Maybe crawl on the floor…yeah, yeah! Okay, let’s get some shots on the bed.— The bed shots were my favorite! I got to look in the mirror so I could pose myself really well and I have to say the shots on the bed are… *chefs kiss.*

K was so polite to walk me to my Uber that would bring me back to SOMA to stay one last day in San Francisco. I think I’ll stay out in the Sunset from now on, or maybe the Haight. It’s way more chill out there and the ocean is always mesmerizing.
All-in-all I’m extremely happy we were able to collaborate on these photos! K and I improvised last minute and we both did it really well. Even if a planter got broken in the process! What can I say? Opa!? I will post one of the photos where K used the plant to fill the space, to make it worth it, soon!
Best,
Supple Rose
